GOLDWATER RECEIVES KEY ENDORSEMENTS &
CHALLENGES FEDS ON BORDER SECURITY
Don Goldwater, the leading Republican candidate for
Governor, announced several key endorsements by
legislative and community leaders in a press conference
held at the State Capitol this week.
Sen. Thayer Verschoor(R-22), Rep.Andy Biggs(R-22),
Rep. Judy Burges (R-4), Rep. Rick Murphy (R-9), Rep.
Jerry Weiers(R-12), and Rep. Russell Pearce (R-19) all
publicly lauded and endorsed Goldwater's plan for
securing Arizona's border against the current illegal
invasion of the U.S.
Goldwater personally challenged the Federal
Government by declaring, "If walls and fences do not
work, why do homeowners and business owners spend
hundreds of millions of dollars every year to build them
around our properties? If walls and fences do not work,
why did the U.S. government build them in California and
Texas? If walls and fences do not work, why have the
human and drug smugglers changed their entry to the U.S.
through Arizona where there is no wall? President Bush,
build us this wall!"
Pearce, the leading advocate for stronger measures to
stem the flow of illegal aliens into Arizona, added,
"The illegal invasion of aliens is the most serious
issue facing Arizonans today. I am proud to endorse
Goldwater for Governor because he is the only candidate
who has a proven track record on this issue and a
comprehensive plan to solve this illegal invasion."
Goldwater further demonstrated his appeal to
conservative leaders throughout the state with
additional endorsements from Rusty Childress, founding
officer of Prop. 200 and Michelle Dallacroce, founder
and President of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens. Chris
Simcox, Founder of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps,
and former House Majority Whip Randy Graf, now a leading
Republican congressional candidate, reinforced their
long-standing support of Goldwater with signed letters
of support read by Goldwater staff.
House candidates Don Hesselbrock, Daniel Coleman,
Carl Seel, and former Republican National Committeewoman
Lori Marsh-Urban also joined the growing list of state
leaders endorsing Goldwater and his no-nonsense approach
to protecting the sovereignty of Arizona and the U.S.
