The Goldwater Reform Immigration Plan (GRIP)
by Don Goldwater

A story in LaVoz and AZCentral.com last week asserted that I was advocating the use of “concentration camps”. I tracked the source of this story to a wire release written by a reporter of a Spanish news service. On Sunday, I received a full retraction and apology from the Vice President and USA Managing Editor of this Spanish news service who confirms that the story was inaccurate; that the reporter never spoke with me or any member of my campaign; that there is no evidence anywhere of my desire to launch such an onerous project.

The reporter refuses to reveal who suggested she run the false story, and I leave it to you to figure out who would benefit from this smear. My family heritage and my study of the causes and events of World War II make it offensive for anyone to accuse me of even considering such tactics. It is irresponsible and unprofessional that my campaign was never contacted prior to being falsely attacked. The Goldwater Reform Immigration Plan (GRIP) dedicates resources to fight the illegal invasion of our state under the Division of Emergency Management. GRIP will secure the border, update our Civil Defense framework and constrict the demand that encourages violation of our laws. GRIP will be the national model to demonstrate that amnesty is not the answer to the illegal invasion.

GRIP envisions “Tent City” prisons near the border, because GRIP, fully implemented, will reduce the inflow of illegals through Arizona, reducing the need for costly additional brick and mortar prisons. Violators of our laws will be assigned to work details regardless of their legal status.

Law enforcement professionals use these procedures routinely across America, and GRIP is no more harsh or inhumane than what occurs daily with other prisoners. If assigning prisoners to work details is harsh or inhumane, the governor should stop the use of prisoners for maintenance work at the State Capitol or picking up trash on our freeways.

Elected officials swear an Oath of Office to support the United States Constitution and the Constitution and laws of Arizona. Arizonans pay billions every year for the direct and indirect costs due to illegal aliens because the Governor, the Attorney General and our federal officials have failed to keep their Oath to protect and defend our citizens’ rights.

Governor Napolitano’s had eight years as Attorney General and Governor to deal with immigration issues and Arizonans should be offended by her malfeasance. Napolitano vetoed bills to: 1) require MVD to confiscate fraudulent documents; 2) allow local law police to help enforce immigration laws; 3) enact a state crime of trespassing; 4) make English Arizona’s official language; 5) protect private property rights from excessive use of eminent domain, etc. Five reasons to veto Janet.

I need you to send my campaign one dollar for each of those reasons. Send the $5.00 along with a signed Clean Elections form you can download from my website:
